Workflow

Plan to staff, before the work arrives

Demand from the pipeline, people from one pool.

Staffing usually starts when a deal is signed, which is too late. Perspectiv lets you see the work coming in the pipeline, plan who will do it, and watch utilization as it happens.

The steps

  1. Likely work and roles from open opportunities
  2. Skills, certifications and availability for every person
  3. Tentative bookings while the deal is still open
  4. Firm bookings when the contract is signed
  5. Clashes and overallocation flagged before they happen
  6. Time recorded against the bookings
  7. Utilization by person, team and practice
  8. Gaps that tell you when to hire or bring in contractors

Where it usually breaks

The resourcing spreadsheet. Sales knows what is coming but not who is free. Delivery knows who is free but not what is coming. The spreadsheet that tries to join them is out of date by Tuesday, and the first sign of trouble is an overbooked consultant or an idle bench.

How Perspectiv connects it

The pipeline, the people and the projects share one record. Open opportunities create expected demand by role. People carry their skills, certifications and availability from People. Bookings move from tentative to firm as deals close, and recorded time shows how the plan turned out.

See the resource planning guide and how to measure utilization for the thinking behind it.

Questions

Can we include contractors and subcontractors?

Yes. Employees, contractors and subcontractors are all in Workforce, so they can be booked the same way.

Does it plan from the pipeline, or only from signed work?

Both. Open opportunities create tentative demand, which becomes firm when the contract is signed.

When can we use this?

The private beta opens in Q2 2027 with Knowledge hub and CRM, with the framework underneath. The other modules in this process join as they are ready, and each one plugs into the same record.
