Workflow

Time to invoice, in one pass

Record it once. Approve it once. Bill it right.

For a firm that sells time, the timesheet is the start of the invoice. Perspectiv keeps time, expenses, approvals and billing on the same record, so approved hours become invoice lines at the rates in the contract.

The steps

  1. Time recorded against the client, project and task
  2. Expenses with receipts, against the same work
  3. Approval by the project manager
  4. Rates applied from the contract or rate card
  5. Invoice drafts from approved time and expenses
  6. Billable and non-billable time kept apart
  7. Invoices sent and tracked to payment
  8. Billed and unbilled time in the reports

Where it usually breaks

Late timesheets and manual exports. Hours are logged a week late, exported to a spreadsheet, adjusted and keyed into accounting. Each step loses detail, so invoices go out late and clients query lines nobody can explain.

How Perspectiv connects it

Time and expenses are recorded against the work, not in a separate tool. Approval routes to the right manager, and approved entries flow to billing at the agreed rates. Every invoice line links back to the hours behind it, so a client question takes seconds to answer.

Questions

Can different clients have different rates?

Yes. Rate cards and client-specific pricing come from Catalog & pricing, and the contract says which applies.

Can people use a timer instead of filling in a timesheet?

Yes. Timers and timesheets both record time against the same work.

When can we use this?

The private beta opens in Q2 2027 with Knowledge hub and CRM, with the framework underneath. The other modules in this process join as they are ready, and each one plugs into the same record.
